Douglas Elenowitz
Doug is a Co-Founder and Principal at Trailbreak Partners. In EOS speak, he is the company’s Visionary. He guides the company’s long-term vision, values, culture, product, and brand strategy. He manages investor relations and major relationships, and guides the firm’s real estate acquisition and development strategy. He is an expert in urban redevelopment, having managed the origination, structuring, and execution of urban infill and environmentally complex real estate developments across the United States for more than two decades. Under Doug’s joint leadership, since 2017 Trailbreak Partners has entitled more than 1,000 units of housing, and capitalized and executed more than $500 million in value-add acquisition and development projects including multifamily, residential for-sale, hospitality, mixed-use, and industrial. He is an expert in public finance, having worked with tax increment financing, LIHTC, metropolitan districts, HUD loans, and federal and local grants.
Prior to Trailbreak Partners, Doug was a co-founder of a national brownfield development company, and he began his professional career as a specialty underwriter for Zurich North America.
Doug holds a BS in Environmental Health Science from the University of Georgia and an MBA from the University of Colorado Boulder, Leeds School of Business. Doug resides in Denver with his wife and two kids, and when not in the office is often working with non-profit boards or found in the Colorado high country riding mountain bikes, road bikes, or skiing.
